Canadian Professional Handlers Association
Welcome to the Canadian Professional Handlers Association website. CPHA is an organization of dedicated professional dog people who dedicate themselves to the betterment of the sport of purebred dogs. They are involved with many facets of the dog world, from exhibiting to breeding, conditioning to training. A Professional Handler is a person who is paid to show, groom and care for other people's dogs. They are often consulted on matters such as at-home conditioning and care, future breedings, evaluation of litters for potential show prospects, planning of show careers, etc.
Selecting a Professional Handler is something that should be done with care, as this person will be your representative both in the ring and at the dog show. They will often be the first person that your potential puppy buyers meet, and many times will be your spokesperson in the dog show world. CPHA membership is your assurance that this person maintains appropriate facilities for the care of your dog, that they are in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club, and that they are both competent and deserving of the title "Professional Handler".
